THE QAVER - QUALITY FOR PAVER
The QAVER closes the gap in supervision
The QAVER is a control tool, to supervise the characteristics of the fresh concrete directly after the compaction process. On the fresh concrete product it measures the compaction of the face and the core concrete independent from each other. Moreover, it measures the height and the weight of the product and determines the overall compaction of the product.
The whole measuring process takes about 30-40 sec., after a short instruction any person is able to conduct the measuring. During the first part of the measuring process the physical characteristics of the fresh product are registered. During the second part of the measuring process the measurement results are evaluated.
The evaluation is automatically done by the QAVER. For this purpose the QAVER works with limit values, which are installed in the machine and works as reference values for the registered measurements. These measurements are then compared to the reference values and are then visually displayed in different colors. The reference values present the tolerance range for every measurement result. Through pretests the limits are determined and installed individually for each product series. These comparisons make it possible to recognize deviations from the target and make corrections for the next mixture.
A dry face concrete leads to a decreased compaction of the whole structure. The QAVER recognized this problem and displays it. A too low compactness of the core concrete shows by several characteristics, for instance decreasing compactness of the core concrete, exceedance of the target height and undercut of the gross density. So, first of all the QAVER is a supporting tool for the machine operator for the final control of the just manufactured product. Second, the QAVER is a documentation device, which saves the measurement results together with all product parameters. Thus, with every measuring the QAVER saves information about “who has produced what and in which quality”.
